If he had a six pack would that make him a better boxer or would you just enjoy it more?

when you say someone is out of shape you are talking about his stamina. An out of shape boxer shouldn't be able to go the pace that Juan Diaz goes at. You are born with your punching power. You can only help it so much. If everyone could workout to punch harder, I'm sure we would all do it.

How ripped or how big someone's muscles has nothing to do with how well they would fight.

And to whoever said he could make featherweight...there is no way he could make that weight. If he could his management team would tell him to go down there because if would be the best career move.

he may not be out of shape but his physique could be improved on.

If he had a workout/diet plan with the likes of hopkins, manny, he'd be an even better boxer.

If this was his career, why not go all out with training/diet. Millions of dollars could be on the line.

I think he's going to law school, but If I were him, Id pick one or the other for now.

Obviously he is not out of shape if he can fight at the pace he does for 12 rounds, but you have to admit he has some extra flab that if he was able to lose he could make FW......maybe he didn't do that already because he had success in his career at LW up until the Campbell fight. It may have been a "why should I"? sort of decision on Diaz's part. Alot like why Arreola doesn't come in at a better weight because nothing bad has happened as a result.

The guy is FAT. There is no logical reason for a boxer to be conditioned the way he is. `
Diaz has one of the highest punch outputs in the game and is constantly punching for 12 rounds without even being out of breath. Also to the guys who said he should go to FW...why? there is hardly any good fighters there, even at SFW. LW is a hot division and has been for a long long time. Between 135-140 there are tons of fights for him-

                Valero
                Guzman
                Peterson
                Hatton
                Bradley
                Kahn
                Ortiz

or would you rather see him against
                John
                Gamboa

The elite boxers worked out hard, their physiques showed it. This goes all the way back to Tyson, SRL, Ali, Frazier, etc. Even today, Benard hopkins is 44 and looks more ripped than most 20 year olds. You cant tell me that's all genetics.

I doubt Diaz is training like them. To be the best, you must train like the best. If he is training as hard as they were, and he still looks like that, then I'll say it's genetics. I very much doubt it though.

But until then, it's an excuse. He can obviously up his stamina and game if he worked as hard or somewhere near the greats.
