I already respected, but the Juan Diaz cemented that. In the boxing community, hell yeah Malignaggi is much more respected than he was. GBP picked him to be a stepping stone for Juan Diaz, they almost regretted it.
Do People have more respect for Malignaggi now??

He is born in Sicily Italy and raised in Brooklyn New York. he is not from New Jersey my man.
He looked good Saturday but he still got tagged with alot of left hooks and body shots. He did his best to stay off the ropes and out of the corners and used his jab. Although he threw tons of jabs he landed about 18-20% of them. He did use his right hand more but not enough and never moved to any direction other than his left all nght. I think he could have won the fight had he landed more power shots. he did a great job using his jab and moving but he needed to land more variety of shots. We all know Paulie doe not have much power but he never even stunned Juan not once. I think Juan hurt Paulie at least once with those left hooks to the head and the body. It was a great fight but I cannot argue if the judges would have given it to Paulie I would not have been surprised but I scored it 115-113 for Diaz.....LeftyComment

Nah. Malignaggi has always been a decent fighter. He doesn't have a right hand so he'll always be B-class and he is always a douche so he'll always be an opponent.
No new respect for him.Comment

lol Not really, I was slumped back in my seat half asleep/half annoyed after 4th or 5th like in all his fights. His footwork is brilliant, but everytime I see him fight, he has problems landing his jabs and rights. He'll fling em out there real quick yeah, but you'll only see single shots land occaistionally.
But I can't front, after Paulie stopped movin and tried to trade with Diaz, Juan tore him up with ease in that 2nd or 3rd round, I thought for sure Paulie was gonna get stopped in the coming rounds. Diaz' hands were just to quick and he was lookin pretty strong in that sequence too. Paulie couldn't take those shots at all. But than he just started leaning back just far enough away from Diaz after that, and doing that circle jab **** for the rest of the night.
If Diaz wasn't as short as he was, I really doubt Paulie would be able to jab and lean back as much as he did. Diaz' right hand was always timed right, but when it wouldn't land, it was only because it was just out of reach. All Paulie had to do was Jab straight down, circle, and try to lean back.
And I don't think we'll ever see a rematch. I can't imagine anyone paying these two guys to get in the ring again, there just wasn't enough fighting going on. I think you'll sooner see Paulie in with Khan or Bradley. For whatever reason, people are excited about Paulie's performance, lol I can't imagine why. But I think his mouth has more fight in it, and that's what got people excited. So even though he was forced to take this L, he managed to talk himself some new fans. So who knows, maybe he'll get another big fight with a Khan or Bradley. Even a fight with Ortiz would interesting. Victor doesn't even have that diverse of an arsenal, so if Paulie found somthing that was working for him against Ortiz, I don't think Victor would even be able to adjust. It would make for interesting fight, cause Ortiz still has the speed and reach that would cause problems for Paulie to run and circle. One of em would gas out eventually and take over.Comment

He had Hatton in fits during the first 2 rounds of their fight. If the slick, hard jabber from Saturday had have showed up in November, it could've been a much different fight - or at least not as one-sided.
Magic Man's got a new appreciator in me. Bounce back, Paulie!Comment
