Regardless, my point is that everybody who picked Hatton in that fight was under the assumption that Manny was still a "little man", when in reality he's a full fledged 140lbs fighter now and could even do it at 147 if he wanted to ; he'd just have to avoid some of the giant Welters like Margarito or Cintron.

And even then I'd favor him to outbox those guys.
Even those who picked Pac like myself, didnt expect a demolition of that sort. I expected a long drawn out fight not a 2rd destruction. Nobody gets 100% of their picks, and its obvious some people feel the need to act tough so they run to the computer.

        Agreed.

I thought Pacquiao would whitewash his ass. I expected a legit KO but I had it in the 7th.

Boxing is crazy like that, it really is where the unexpected becomes reality.

But yeah ; I don't see the point in beating a fellow poster over the head with a few false picks they've had in the past. Nobody gets them all right, and anything can happen in a big fight.

It doesn't signify a lack of intelligence.

If anything it signifies how complicated and unpredictable the sport really is.

Aside from that you also have to take into account the user in question's "favorites".

        Take me for example.

I'm betting on Marquez to beat Floyd.

Do I really think it'll happen? No.

But he's a serious favorite of mine and I absolutely love watching him fight.

And I'm a real fan, so I won't back away from supporting him just because everybody else is saying he has no chance.

Same way I did with Hopkins and Pavlik and Hopkins and Trinidad.

Luckily I was on the winning side those nights.

But if Mayweather beats Marquez as expected, months later someone could find one of my posts where I said Marquez would decision him and use it as "proof" that I'm a moron.

Does that make it true? No.

People around here just take it all way too seriously.

There is big difference between betting on NSB and betting serious cash. I bet cash on a lot of fights where Im fairly certain of the outcome, but there are a lot of intangibles in this sport. I lost big on Cotto-Margo because I didnt think Margo had the skills to beat him, but won that money back plus on SSM-Margo. There making fun of him for a fight Diaz actually ended up winning controversial or not, if he had cash on just Diaz winning hes ahead and they're stuck bitchin.
