and those are just his last 6 fights in the past 2 years or so. How many fighters 25 and under that has as good of a resume as Juan Diaz. This same team was trying to go after Valero and I have no doubt that will go for a big name in the next fight for juan at 140.

nah. campbell ruined diaz. diaz hasn't been the same since. he beat katsidis who isn't all that good either and then got KTFO by jmm, who brawled w/ diaz cause he knew he couldn't win a decision in houston.

yeah, but he got beat up badly over 12 rounds. you could say that beating wore down some of diaz's punch resistance.

Juan isnt finished.. he just needs to stay the hell away from 140 lb and up. He has no business there and to Paulies credit, he made Juan look bad. It wasnt completely Juans fault that he looks worse than he actually is, its that Paulie is not the opponent that people thought he was. Yes Paulie came off some bad losses but he lost to good fighters and I told my cousins at the start of the fight that Paulie was much too fast both hand speed and foot speed to get caught by Juan. Just my two cents.

good point mikedb1984. i think diaz fighting those 6 guys straight hurt him though. he shouldve took a tuneup after campbell and marquez. although i respect he didnt. his career will end earlier.

lol!!!! I never said diaz was run of the mill, I said he is a contender/gatekeeper but will never beat any elite fighter. clearly diaz is good, but he ain't great. you don't know what you're talking about, or you do, but you are misled by your bias.

let's really really look at diaz's last opponents:

Paulie Malignaggi - diaz clearly hometown decision
Juan Manuel Marquez - diaz got KTFO
Michael Katsidis - katsidis is a gatekeeper
Nate Campbell - campbell ruined diaz
Julio Diaz - julio is a c+ fighter at best. he lost to the best fighters he's ever fought
Acelino Frietas - came out of retirement for a final payday

if you really look at his resume, it is clearly the resume of a contender/gatekeeper: he beat collects belts and beats other gatekeepers, and any boxer that beats him can be considered elite.
