Is this another "Cotto special Rules"?

    Cotto special Rules

Champions were viewed as Champions even if they fought for a vacant title. I never remember discussions about "Vacant" title fighters. Until Cotto did it.

Many fighters took knees and more quit in ugly fashion under less pressure. But Cotto's team throws in the towel (Margarito)and Cotto is the worst quitter in boxing.

Fighters like Tyson bit ears was known for elbows, Holyfield head butts, Golota low blow like crazy. But They get on Cotto like he is the dirtiest low blow fighter ever..lol

Cotto fights, Margarito, Clottey(with a cut), Quintana (3 of the most feared and avoided welterweights yet people say Cotto has "no heart".

Now you have guys saying he is going to come in heavier to gain an advantage(which is arguable) like just about 95% of all fighters do. Even Pacquiao comes in over 10 pounds more but again a New "Cotto Rule"!
Cotto lowblowed judah as soon as judah had him in trouble and golota just abitrarily hits people in the nuts which is just as bad I suppose but, I don't believe Cotto is a quitter though. He prolly would've been KTFO anyway. He didn't wanna be there but, I'm sure he would've kept fighting if it hadn't have been for his corner stopping the fight.

pac was struggling to make weight, why do you think he moved up? EPIC FAIL.

As for it being an issue in the fight.....That is still debatable,
c'mon... there's a reason why there are weight divisions.

WHy ? Too much weight can slow him down, especially considering that Pac is faster already.
cotto ain't gonna be slowed down, its his weight division. if anybody is gonna be slowed down by the weight it's pac.

But again, its debatable, and its NO FACT THAT COTTO"S WEIGHT GAIN ALONE WILL BE AN EDGE FOR HIM,
that's laughable. cotto is banking on the fact that he's much bigger than pac.

Nor is it a fact That You nor anyone can tell exactly what he will weigh during fight night...or Pac for that matter.
well, from previous fights cotto you can reliably predict that cotto will put on around 10 lbs.

(Honestly Im a bit surprised at you Pullcounter, your usually on point)
      I am on point.

Not to mention that the re hydration of Pac during the JMM fight of 16lbs didnt really help him...lol...but again its debatable...JMM gained 11 lbs and many believe he really won.
the result of jmm/pac II is a discussion for another thread. pac beat jmm btw.

BUT size advantage does matter. why else is there weight divisions? why else is there the adage "the good big man beats the good little man"?

      again, UTTER EPIC FAIL.

I think you're relying too much on the weight factor. Yes it's an issue, but it's not the determining factor on who's going to win. This isn't the 1st time a smaller guy has come up to face a bigger guy who some revere as the stronger guy, but it doesn't guarantee a win nor does it make the bigger fighter look bad if he loses. This is Boxing, not body building.

The reason I give Pacquiao a chance is because he's fought at WW and still looked fast and strong.

when I say 10 lbs, i'm not really talking about weight, i'm talking about size. cotto is much bigger than pac.

don't tell cotto that because cotto is banking on the fact that he will be bigger than pac.

it don't guarantee it, but cotto for sure should be the favorite.

nor does it make the bigger fighter look bad if he loses.
yes, it does. if a big dude can't spank a little dude that makes him look bad. there's a reason why there are weight divisions.

This is Boxing, not body building.
yeah, but boxing has weight divisions for a reason.

The reason I give Pacquiao a chance is because he's fought at WW and still looked fast and strong.
against a weight drained dlh!!! c'mon man, that's like saying rjj is back after beating lacy. pac is not proven at 147 lbs.

Your too caught up in wieght....Can you show me another thread where you were saying these things when Pac was putting on over ten lbs in his fights(just to show your not picking favorites)...I doubt it.
Also if Pac was having trouble making weight, that clearly shows that he BELONGS in this division and if thats the case AGAIN, why is making it a 145lb fight(just to mess with Cotto?)
If this is where he belongs then the "weight rules" should apply to him too(even if he is popular).
The other topics I will not touch because I already stated, THEY ARE DEBATABLE and I accept this...you should too.

I understand what the thread starter was saying. He was refering to the fact that many Southpaws are avoided.

when did I ever say pac didn't put on 10 lbs? that's besides the point. the point is cotto will be 10+ lbs heavier than pac on fight night.

Also if Pac was having trouble making weight, that clearly shows that he BELONGS in this division and if thats the case AGAIN, why is making it a 145lb fight(just to mess with Cotto?)
he was having problems making 130 lbs, not 140, not 145 lbs. please stay on topic.

If this is where he belongs then the "weight rules" should apply to him too(even if he is popular).
they do apply to pac. if pac fought Vasquez, he'd be getting flak too (even tho JML is a huge cat at 122 lbs).

                    nah, they aren't debatable.
