    Gutierrez Decisions Gulyakevitch, Castillo Wins

At the Municipal Auditorium in Baja California, Mexico, Humberto Gutierrez (26-1-1, 19KOs) picked up a twelve round majority decision over Sergey Gulyakevitch (26-2, 12KOs). The scores 115-111 and 116-110 for Gutierrez and 113-113 for the draw. The bout was fought at a close pace. During the fourth round, Gulyakevitch lost a point for spitting out the mouthpiece multiple times. Gutierrez picks up the vacant WBC interim-super featherweight title and becomes the mandatory to champion Humberto Soto. [details]

Ugh. JLC can still knock out bums all day long, but going after one of the young guns at 140 right now is a bad idea. He has been in the game too long, there is just too much mileage on him.
