Vitali didn't quit. In fact he was quite pissed about the doctor stopping it.

He's got more heart than you'll find anywhere.
being ahead on the scorecards is not the same thing as schooling.

He didn't school Lewis, and that's not even opinion. He did beat everyone else so even more kudos for Lewis for the TKO win. He didn't look brilliant but he did win by TKO age 37. Yes he was a kick-boxer champ once.

I think if the current competition was better he would adjust and get better with the competition but because of the way it is, he doesn't really have to up his game.

Yup Vitali absolutely schooled Lewis and made Lewis run away into retirement like a ***** and yes Vitali is one of the greatest heavyweighst of all time.

i totally agree. he made lennoz retire. if lennox didnt have to face him again he wouldve fought. hes technically never lost a fight ever. he won the byrd fight but tore his rotator and he beat the **** outta lennox people dont like him becuase hes non confrontational technical and handles himself well instead of in the limelight.

If the Klitschko's were a couple of Abbos from Australia the same people that are swinging off their nutsacks now would be telling us how much they suck and how unbeatable Valuev is.

Here is what cracks me up about the whole thing. People always say HW's tend to blossom in their mid 30's or whatever. Also, people on these boards saying 37 or whatever is so over the hill are the same people who do not give Joe Calzaghe any credit for at the same age beating RJJ and BHOP and saying that JC was in his prime (even though he was at the same age of Lewis and had more fights that Lewis at the time) and beat on old guys. I mean Lewis had 1 loss in the previous 10 years at the time...I could understand if it was a RJJ situation, but it wasn't. I also think the Corrie Sanders win was better than the Peter win, but thats just my opinion. As for the Byrd fight...do I wish he would have continued sure, but a decade ago not wanting to suffer permanent injury...im not going to fault a guy who was up ridiculously on all score cards.

Who the hell says that? No one credible that I'VE ever seen.....all the more so since it's demonstably false and example after example can be given for Heavyweights that were washed up by their early to mid 30s. Whether a fighter is a Flyweight or a Heavyweight mid-30s is past prime.

I'm 70 but think I could beat Bolt over 100 metres if he was being carried on a stretcher with his eye hanging out.
                      He lost, end of.
