This was the biggest win of Paulie's career

Forgetting what all the bull**** cards of the judges for a second, let's say this fight were held anywhere but Texas. This was the best performance ever by Malignaggi. I knew goin into this fight that he was quick enough to win the majority of the fight sticking to his jab and using carefully placed rights and body shots. He mixed it up well, had great speed, showed a solid chin, and excellent footwork. This may be the best Paulie Malignaggi we will ever see in his career, and the shame of it is he happened to be fighting in Houston against a Mexican-American who grew up there. All respect to Diaz, he's fun as hell to watch, but this shoulda been Paulie's night hands down.

Thank you very much I feel the same way. He had the best performance and win of his career. I had it 8-4 for the Magic Man. A rematch should happen IMO as far away from Texas and from Van Hoyle ASAP.

As much as you're right, no way is that gonna happen. The fight was too close for a guy involved to give that up to the opponent. Even if is what the opponent deserves. Diaz's will, however, have to carry that belt around knowing he doesn't deserve it and answering questions by many fans and media on how he felt being handed that gift, for a long time to come.

I think Paulie needs to focus all his effort on getting a rematch NOW, while the outcome of the fight is still fresh in everyone's mind. If he takes any time, fighting an in between, warm up, or even another big opponent, his chances of securing the rematch will be drastically diminished. Worry about getting the rematch today, worry about all other possibilities tomorrow. That's at least how I think he needs to handle this.
