DLT- Floyd is probably by far light years away in skills from other fighters but he doesn't push the envelope brother. He has shunned away his fans and the sport of boxing from avid boxing fans because of his lack of commitment to facing opposition worthy of legendary fights. Anyone who has been keeping up with Mayweather for several years now will understand this point that he dominated 130-135 yet didn't make all the fights that needed to be made. Then has had very questionable opponents at 140. Furthermore at 147 he has yet to even tap into that brand of fighters and those fighters were forced to fight themselves yet he still proclaims he's the best of the division....In the words of Red, "Frankly my dear I don't give a ****," who he thinks he can beat in a mythological bout...he just needs to walk the walk instead of talking the talk. This is why everyone questions Floyd and why he no longer is on top of the food chain. He can only fool the public so long and people who study the sport stopped believing his hype after the Castillo I decision debacle, regained it after Castillo II only to realize after 135lbs the fights were meaningless and once again stopped believing the hype machine. What he has shown of in recent years is down right ghastly for his Legacy.

You might want to boost and give credit to Floyd for taking a bout against Marquez but Marquez is not the top at WW nor has he even fought at WW and that is where the criticism comes to pass. Marquez struggled with Diaz and Casa...who are lightweights and who are no where near the level of fighters that the elites possess in the WW division. Yes, you have to start somewhere, but for Marquez it was not Floyd at WW and for Floyd it was not Marquez at WW...this is a mismatch and this fight is not what the public aspires to see and the only reason people will tune in is because the undercard fights are promising and matched up far better than the headliner. You may be swayed by the hype machine that 24/7 produces because HBO is pure genius with their marketing ability. Most people thought that Ricky Hatton actually had a chance to dethrone Floyd because of 24/7 but the true pundits of the sport were not so easily swayed.

No one is questioning his skills, everyone is questioning his heart and by making excuses and dodging the best in the division.

Floyd against an older, smaller, slower, weaker, less talented counter puncher. I'll pass.

Are you kidding me? Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather was actually a fight boxing fans wanted to desperately see. I did not need 24-7 to "sway" me as you claim. You say elite but Hatton was elite.

What makes you think Cotto (Lets use him as an example) can beat PBF more than Ricky Hatton did prior to them fighting? You see people **** on Hatton but go and see what people where saying before he fought PBF.Hatton is not a bad fighter he is elite just not Mayweather elite.

Yeah Cotto might be better than Hatton but that doesn't mean he can beat Mayweather. Let me guess if PBF VS Cotto happens HBO would have "swayed" us onCotto vs PBF? Assuming Floyd takes care of him as well? Oh wait...

I am not a PBF ball licker like some here but the contradictions and the BS is incredible.
