Corely the Key to a Gatti Victory over Mayweather

Thank You DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corely for showing me Saturday night that Gatti can not only last with PBF but beat him as well. Corely has good boxing skills but doesnt have much power and was still able to hurt PBF and a much bigger Cotto (Who by the way Corley I hope you get a rematch with Cotto's punkass on the East Coast, and get a fair fight this time).

In my opinion I think Gatti can hurt PBF early possibly knock him down or have him out on his feet than for the remainder of the fight PBF will have to come to Gatti and that is the way Gatti would want it.

So you heard it here first Gatti will beat PBF, but that is if PBF got the balls.

Gatti isn't going to be able to land a clean shot. Mayweather got caught by him, because he's a southpaw..

Agreed...that logic never works out. There are too many other factors to consider. Mayweather probably didn't take Corley seriously in the first place, but he sure as hell will take Gatti seriously, even if the thinks he can beat him easy, because it's his chance at the big money.

Gatti's new outside fighting won't have any affect on Mayweather at all. His jabs will hit air over and over.

Gatti cant even beat Chop. Using your logic you could sat thanks Angel Manfredy for showing me how to beat Gatti and then Floyd KO's Manfredy in the second round

Hey, Gatti's the modern day Rocky. Who knows what kind of of eye-of-the-tiger-training session he'll go into and just might pull a fairy tale knock out....nahhhh

Thank You Bombardier, you proved one of my point, PBF will not take Gatti seriously, and mentaly Gatti is going to be prepared for PBF. Gatti knows what is like to box and to brawl and PBF has not seen power like Gatti's before, Gatti will win. Corely gave PBF trouble and friggin Brussels lasted 8 rounds w/ PBF, Gatti can do a lot better he will get the 'W'!

I've been thinking all along that Gatti had a good chance to upset Floyed in their fight, or at least I've thought so since the Dorin-Gatti fight. The Leija fight increased the chances in my eyes that Gatti might be able to KO Floyed. But Gatti is still the underdog. Still though I don't think this is a complete mismatch or anything.

I think Mayweather will take this one seriously because it's his first big chance to grab a bunch of fame and money...these other fights were against guys I'm sure he thought were beneath him. Even if he doesn't respect Gatti's abilities he knows that the crowds love him and that will be enough incentive to silence them.

As for the Bruseles fight, it doesn't matter how many rounds that weant...Mayweather owned the guy plain and simple. He was just clowning around most of the time. Besides, he's not an early knockout fighter, no matter how bad the opposition is...he wears you out and then beats you down slowly.

Thunder .... I'm a big Gatti fan for all the obvious reasons that Gatti gives us again and again. He's good for the game. But, we disagree bigtime on Corley getting a "fair" rematch. I would rephrase that to read "... and get a fair chance at getting smoked properly". Cotto landed a beautiful Gatti-special bodyshot that made Corley sink for the first KD. Then Corley decides to take a knee, without throwing anything back at Cotto, when Cotto is hitting air. That's a sign that Corley just didn't want to be there, he was beat. Sure the ref should have given Corley eight and let things continue, but WTF did Corely think was happening when he decided not throw and take that knee when he was not being hit? The ref could simply say "he was not defending himself". Corley was given a "fair" chance to fight and didn;t throw and knelt down.

Leading up to the fight, Corley said he understood the "hometown decision" threat and was gonna' do everthying to make sure there were no questions about who won. Deciding to take-a-knee showed that he either didn't really understand his own words, or he was in big trouble. I'd say he was in big trouble.

As a Gatti fan, I would never expect Gatti to stop throwing and take-a-knee. Also, I'd like to see Cotto take a Gatti right hand with 2 minutes remaining. He'd been KTFO brutually.

All of you are insane. Oh yeah, the Leija fight increased the chances in your eyes. A 100 year old Leija is just as good as Floyd
