obviously this statement is not true but its a good analogy for the excuses and jealously from the calzache lovers and the yanks of froch perfect record against high class opponents....
This thread is to debunk the myths started by sheer jealousy that a nottingham man will be known as one of the greatest of all time when he retires....
1)"froch is old". Firstly hes 32, certainy now with diets and traning regeigms that is not old, especially the fact that joe calslappe, tarver, hopkins, and even roy jones are still considered contenders...But more importantly froch has had alot less fights, even dirrell has only had 7 less fights than him. Kesslers had 42 fights, taylor had more fights and i think arthors had more fights...
2) "pascal fought the wrong fight". AHAHAH seen this one a few times, assuming that if pascal fought the correct fight he would have won. Well he didnt, boxing is like a chess match that hurts, if you get your tactics wrong then you are a poor tactician. Fact was froch got his tactics right, he knew pascal a world class skillful and fast boxer, and he roughed him up and wore him down...Froch took some digs but hey this is world class boxing.
3)"if taylor hadnt gassed he would have won". This ones my favourite and links in with my thread title, if my auntie had balls she would be my uncle. Firslty froch was not getting schooled. ANYONE whos knows boxing would admit this. The Biased hbo judges had froch drawing going minto the 11th, the judges had a split decision in favour of taylor which means one of the judges thought froch was winning. I actually had froch 1/2 rounds behind going into the 12th. Which means had froch knocked out taylor but still dominated the 12th, it was a draw, or if a 10/7 round a win for froch by 1 point.
Plus taylor did not gas, the guys been in many 12 round fights and won/drawn them against legends of winky right and hopkins twice. Alot of people thought he beat pavlik. it was actually a right hand that staggered taylor, any of you numpties who would get clcoked by froch would do more than gas, you would be sparked out and in a coma...
But my final take on the gassing links with the "if my auntie had balls she would have been my uncle" Lets say taylor does not have the cardio, well thats boxing. its a crap excuse. You train for 15 rounds, because boxing is mostly cardio, in fact i would say these 3 things are more imprtant than boxing skill, CARDIO, GOOD CHIN AND POWER. You have those things you are going far. Taylor did not have as good as power as froch, he did not have as good a stamnia as froch and he did not have as good of chin than froch. 3 pretty vital factors. If vitali klitscho didnt have such a big frame he would be rubbish, if naseem had poorer reactions he would never had become champ, if calzache didnt have such good cardio he would be crap. Froch has great power, chin and cardio....he lucky hes so athletic, but hey its picked the right sport.
4)"he has a woeful defence and looked **** in the first 6 rounds against taylor"
This myth ironically has a hint of truth to it, its basically taking two sorta truths and turning it into a big fat lie.
Froch was crap in the first 6 rounds agaisnt taylor. hell froch admitted this himself. But its called nerves. it was his break for the bigtime, it was intaylors backyard, and he had hardly any support. I would be nervous. Which makes the fight even more amazing of a true champ that he won.
But secondly he can be easy to hit, but thats not because he has a poor defence. Granted he not got the greatest defence in the world. but its more a fact of arrogance. he generally likes entertaining. He could have made the pascal fights and taylor fights alot easier, if he did the vitali klitscho jab jab right hand, he would walk those two. but he loves entertaining and he knows hes got a great chin. Ive always stated that it will be his arrognce that will be his downfall, not his denfence. Whne he can be arsed he tucks his chin under his left shoulder and jabs people to death, which is a good form of defence. Hopefully the taylor knock down will make him aware of that...
