Joe Calzaghe Plans To Revive British Boxing

Former undisputed super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe plans to use his promotional company, Calzaghe Promotions, to revive British boxing. During the last few months, the British boxing scene has taken several big hits with Calzaghe hanging up his gloves, Ricky Hatton possibly walking away, Setanta Sports going under and ITV not televising boxing events. This will be no better than Prince promotions or Lion promotions.

Audley will revive it after he clears up at Prizefighter. But Joe won't do any harm either.

Yea, I don't think that's going to happen. Hatton Promotions is already way ahead of him. They have had a few good shows already and have a tv deal with Sky.

Calzaghe Promotions doesn't even have a ****ing website!

the main thing that calzaghe promotions and hatton promotions dont have is a business man at the helm, golden boy has richard schaefer, that is why they are such a success, as don king once said- giving a fighter a briefcase doesnt make him a business man

Isnt Calzaghe working with Freddy Shepherd and someone else?
Freddy was NUFC chairman for years so he knows a thing or two about running a multi-million pound sports venture
