Video: Proof that Pacquiao will use a lot of uppercuts against Cotto

I know, I know. Cotto is no David Diaz but still, you have to see this video.

If you play this embedded video, it's already fwd to 6:35, you'll see that more than half of Pac's punches are uppercuts and it comes via combinations

That's not definite proof. Using uppercuts against Cotto would be the WORST strategy for Roach and Pacquiao to adopt because it puts Pacquiao right in Miguel Cotto's kitchen.

The only reason Pacquiao used alot of uppercuts against Diaz was because they had no respect for Diaz's punching power. He put the earmuffs on Pac simply took him apart when he did.

They should be and will be respecting Cotto's power.

Best gameplan for Pacquiao would be to just take advantage of footspeed to make Cotto put the earmuffs on and work the angles a la Roy jones jr.

Pacquiao used uppercuts against Diaz because he went right at him to get around his block with no regard for the counter attack. Diaz could have landed right back and Pacquiao wouldnt have stopped attacking. That's how little respect they had for Diaz's power.

Cotto has a much better chin and can take punches while looking for an opening. Not only does Pacquiao have to be in close range right where Cotto wants him to land an uppercut at all in the first place....throwing an uppercut...even if it lands leaves Pacquiao's body wide open and 1 bodyshot counter is all it would take to end Pacquiao's night and possibly career early.

Horrible horrible gameplan. Cotto's an excellent fighter but he has enough holes in his game and Pacquiao has enough physical advantages over Cotto that there's plenty of different gameplans he could adopt without relying on somethin so risky as an uppercut.

Maybe he could catch Cotto with an uppercut while Cotto rushes in but to adopt it as an offensive weapon would be suicide.
