Still Pac if he beats Cotto, but if Marquez somehow won and Pac loses then yeah Marquez would be number 1. Floyd is an amazing fighter, but he has been gone for a few years and beating him wouldnt mean as much as before.

big difference between 1 day and 2 years, how many fights have passed since mayweather retired?

The reason they drop is because everyone is fighting while he sits pretty doing nothing for 2 years, didnt defend his titles, etc. Many fights have occured since then and we should expect to just give him that title while other boxers like Manny, cotto, mosley, hopkins have been putting in work?
