Camacho Jr. is Still Focused on Landing Chavez Jr.

Junior middleweight contender Hector Camacho Jr. is still focused on landing a fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. First he must beat Israel Cardona on August 29 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The vacant WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) junior middleweight title is at stake. Over the years, Camacho has struggled with weight and at one point he was fighting as a light heavyweight. He seems to have worked off a lot of weight and made a slow move back to 154-pounds. He doesn't see Cardona beating him in any fashion. [details]

this would be an ugly fight. camacho jr will just run the whole ten rounds. besides, it will not boost chavez jr's record. chavez should fight a named fighter. he should stop fighting a nobody.

i think jr is in tough against lahoullier....but he should get past him. if for some reason he looks bad in winning as he did vs vanda 1 then the jr vs jr match up would be appealling. then winner should face perro angulo as eliminator for wbc title, if camacho cracks the wbc top ten of course.

Omar Chavez is a much bigger puncher than Julio JR. he could be a Mayorga type of fighter. Lil Julio has good skills, he could be very decent in the future.

I never like the hate the son's of successful fathers recieve, simply because they do not live up to the hype their fathers legacy had left behind.

I want Chavez Jr to do well, but accept he is being poorly managed (from a boxing fan standpoint) and moving along very slowly.......but highly up the ranks.

I would be happy if after his next fight, his men can negotiate a fight for a title eliminator either for the WBC with the likes of Jamie Moore, Angulo, David Lopez, Bunema or someone in the top 10 for that matter. That's if the Martinez/Cintron fight comes off.

The WBO offers much easier options, with Lukas Konecny, Matt Hall and Joe Greene making viable options for Dzinzurik's title......if Williams officially vacates.

All in all, the next 12 months are going to be very important for Chavez Jr., i hope his management don't take the easy route, and actually try to make JCC jr a viable contender.

I would like to c chavez jr win his upcoming bout with Lehoullier, which he should win and if he kos this kid even better, Chavez jr needs a good performance, we as fans need to see that. Personaly i would like to c that fight happening between camacho jr and chavez jr, that would probly be the biggest fight for them up to date. hope it happens

I just saw Camacho Jr. here in Cleveland trying to promote the fight @ The Puertorican Festival and not to manny people give a **** about him there alot of people were like "who the *** is this guy" I might go see the fight just because is boxing and I love the sport and this is like 5 min from my house and tickets are cheap. I agree with most of you guys about JCC jr he needs to step up to the competition but I wouldn't mind seen him agains Camacho Jr.
