So i was catching up listening to a boxing show called neutral corner here in LA and i came across the interview with M Axboxing Steve Kim

AM 570 LA Sports is your home for Los Angeles sports including the Dodgers, Chargers, Clippers and UCLA. Get the latest news from Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd, Roggin and Rodney, Petros and Money and more.

    it's on the 6/28 show.

Steve Kim- I have not seen any proof of Floyd Mayweather’s injury. I’ve written this and stand by my words. There were extremely poor ticket sales for July 18 which led to the demise of this event. Richard Schaefer made a comment that they have sold 5.5 million dollars worth of tickets but that is on paper. The reality is for most these big event s unfortunately for the real fans most of those tickets off the pop are given in consignment to the ticket broker, and held by the hotels and the secondary market for Marquez/Mayweather simply did not exist. There were not a lot of tickets out there that the general public bought.

What I have found out in the last couple of days since the Mayweather pull out was that Mayweather was the actual lead promoter of this bout. I was led to believe that it was Golden Boy in association with Mayweather promotion when it was actually the other way around. For the past couple years Mayweather always said he wanted to be his own boss. Part of being a boss is that you have to put your own risk. Several sources said that the only money guaranteed to either fighter in this event as Mayweather Promotion as the lead promoter was Juan Manuel Marquez . JMM and Golden Boy Promotion was guaranteed 4 million dollars. 3.2 to Marquez the rest to Golden Boy for delivering Marquez. Now Mayweather as the promoter and he found out a harsh lesson here in this market place as the promoter he had to incur the cost of 24/7, the marketing, the press tour and anything associated with that event and then after that whatever profit there is including scalping tickets which Mayweather and Al Hayman do engage in they were gonna make their money there but a couple of problems there none of that existed with the secondary market with the ticket and they found out by testing the water that there wasn’t gonna be a demand for this event.

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

Floyd's purse is not guarantee he's just throwing out outrageous number to maintain his mainevent status kinda like the time he said he made 20 million from wwe but according to the stock holder report it was more like 3 milli

There is no EXCUSE for asking a lightweight to skip a weightclass to fight..

If Mayweather-JMM were made at 140..then it's reasonable..because we all know JMM's only beef is with Pacquiao..and 140 is where Pacquiao's at..

and don't pull this "BusinessMan" bull**** ..because nothing Mayweather says is hardly credible..he can claim he's a HUGE draw..but we see that he's struggling in sales against Marquez..it's pretty damn obvious!

Look at that?!..the fight is 1 month away..do me a favor..go to ticketmaster and find me a $300 ticket for Pac-Cotto..and I'll pay for you and me to BOTH go to Pac-Cotto!!

If Mayweather was such a "Business Man" his ticket sales would be through the roof against any opponent..ESPECIALLY the Number 2 P4P fighter IN THE WORLD whom also has an ENTIRE COUNTRY SUPPORTING HIM!!!..

Right?..now go along with this "guaranteed" money that Mayweather is supposedly getting..and you could also believe that he's the BIGGEST DRAW IN BOXING RIGHT NOW!...lmao!..

It's makes more sense..because it's a MEGA-FIGHT..which would bring LOTS of $$$$$$$$$$$..and hopefully it would be at an actual weight..like 147 or 140..

Mayweather-JMM on the other hand..equals MUCH LESS money..and a wack ass catchweight!!

Of course the money is different and it will also be different for Pac now fighting Cotto , it should be crystal why Floyd would want a tune up before taking on the very biggest fights , what bothers me is the double standard in the legitimacy given to a Pac fight and then total about turn that portrays JMM is a waste of time and no show , it dont make sense to me , I see JMM as a smart fight by Floyd and see it as a stepping stone to Pac and a very big one because of the history between Pac and JMM , I think the whole deal is a long term plan for a superfight of mega proportions based on Pac and Floyd winning , these fights are just the precursors .
