Because if Pac wins, people will say that Cotto barely "Won" against a sub par opponent in Clottey.
Pacquiao may have chosen the wrong time to fight Cotto.

Same for Cotto..
I say it's more of a lose-lose situation for Cotto..
If he wins: "He's suppose to beat a BLOWN UP featherweight"
If he loses: "He's a BUM who lost to a BLOWN UP featherweight"
I always thought this was a dumb fight..but I've been caught up in the hype and I'm ready to see this WAR while it LASTS!!.. -
i certainly would not call joshua clottey a "sub par" opponent, sandro san. he is not elite but he is a very solid fighter who i would say is above "par."
i agree with war cotto san. if cotto loses, he will be ridiculed for losing to a smaller man. if he wins, he beat up a blown up welterweight. it is all about the money for miguel in this fight, as far as i am concerned.Comment

As far as the cats in this board is concern, there is no right time to fight since we make excuses for the ones that lost and not give props to the ones that win... saying he was past prime, weight drained, shot and had swine flu. Haters taint the accomplishments like they had some stake in the matter.Comment

Ah, it's nothing new people tend to talk down on all of pacquiao's wins.
Timing is everything in boxing anyway. Would Sugar Ray Leonard have beatin Marvin Hagler a couple years earlier? Probably not. He waited till he saw some chinks in his armor.Comment
