There's plenty for Filipinos to be passionate about. Without Filipinos The U.S. may very have well lost the Pacific front in WWII.

Almost all if not definitely all the lightbulbs in your house and every building you step foot in was invented by a filipino.

And it was a Filipino who became world champion long before any mexican or puerto rican ever became a world champion boxer. that paved the way for them at the lighter weightclasses.

Basketball. That is our number 1 sport. But there's also MMA, which is getting very big in the Philippines. It also helps that a couple of UFC Filipino fighters got some attention. Veras and one of the finalist from TUF last season.
And Martial Arts is quite popular back home as well, and Eskrima is becoming very popular here in the U.S., which btw is Philippine"s original Martial Art style. It was mostly used in all of the "Bourne" movie's.
