  • did hoya take a dive against bhop?

i know this is old and has probably been discussed hundreds of times, but what is the general consensus on the forum regarding that?

A dive, c'mon Oscar never had even a small chance of winning the fight.

I thought Oscar was giving BHop the business. Its been awhile and I'll have to rewatch.

Anyways, I thought Oscar was winning the fight and the body shot...just seemed...staged. I guess we'll never know

Judging by hopkings reaction (funny shhhit) I would have to say no. He was like a kid in a candy store

But my feeling at the time was Hoya took a quick dive

nah, this is the one fight where size played apart in a bhop win. Oscar was in over his head but he held his own for the first few rounds due to bernard giving him probably more respect than he deserved.

The shot didn't look that amazing but oscar had never been hit by a true puncher at 160 pounds before. That was the one and only time in his career he got hit by someone that big and he went down.

The only part thats debatable is if he stayed down on purpose because he knew he'd lose or if he could have got up. It's tough to say, everyone reacts differently when they get hit to the body. Some people go down like Castillo against hatton and just griminess in pain, others flop around like a little ***** like Oscar did and I think one of roy jones' opponents did that too
