you put jones in front of tarver, and tarver can beat the world..., but against johnson, dawson, harding, etc. he was unmotivated until he lost...then he'd be motivated in the rematches....

jones could have beat him in jones/tarver III....what was hopkins doing when jones and tarver were scrapping?....hiding out at 160 beating up oscar de la hoya, morrade hakkar and robert allen 24....only reason hopkins ventured up to 175 was because roy was toast and tarver was ripe for the taking...bypassed a prime winky wright and joe calzaghe altogether...hopkins is garbage..

Yes Tarver was ripe for the taking after he sodomized Roy Jones, and beat Johnson twice (Tarver won the first Johnson fight, but it wasn't given to him). The mark of a coward moving up two weight classes to face the undisputed champ.

What i'm trying to show here is that maybe, just MAYBE, Roy's activity has gotten him to the point where he can actually TKO the Hanshaw's and Ajamu's of boxing. Why do i Think this? well, Sheika and Lacy are not too far away from Hanshaw and Ajamu.

I am a proud Roy Jones nut hugger, but i'm not delusional. I think that Roy Jones has adjusted to his new style. He has accepted that his reflexes are gone, and that he's not in his prime anymore. He was in denial before, and he was trying hard to show fans that he's still the same old Roy. But the truth shall set you free, and that's what it did to Roy. He is comfortable with his newfound style. That's why he looks like he's having fun again and actually stopping the lower tier guys.

When he Knocked Down Calzaghe, he thought "oh this is going to be an easy night" and that threw him off his gameplan. Roy is old, but he tried to fight Calzaghe like the prime Roy who potshots you with lightning quick power punches and can throw combinations at any time he wants. The Calzaghe KD got him all delusional and ***ed up his whole night.

I'm not saying that "Roy is back!", all i'm saying is that he's much more comfortable now knowing that he is not in his prime and he has found a way to have fun again with his new style. Let's admit it, the Jones that fought Hanshaw and Ajamu would have also decisioned Lacy and Sheika.

With all that said, i would put all my points on Roy Jones beating Hopkins if the rematch ever happens.

And btw, Hopkins didn't "almost KO'ed Pavlik" he stunned him several times. He said himself in the post fight interview that he tried his best to go for the KO, he said he was actually going for the KO. And he didn't get it with his best, he only stunned Pavlik. Jermain Taylor almost KO'ed Pavlik. Big difference between stunning someone and almost KO'ing them.

sheika and lacy are even more shot that roy.

He won the fight, but come on. At a point where they were contenders, and Hopkins was still a brawler at the time. That was then this is now. Roy would get murked. And that supposed injury makes no sense, why fight 2 months later?

Why should I care about what these two elder? The last thing that I want to know about is a old semi-retired man in a boxing ring. At least Hopkins is trying to be a promoter thing that somehow contribute to the sport but my friends wakeup these two contribute wiht nothing at all in a boxing ring together or separed. Move on...
