donnie lalonde is a good fighter, when he fought leonard you can clearly see the ref was on pro leonard, when leonard got knocked down it was a long count anywhere from 12 to 15 seconds, when lalonde got knocked down the first time, the ref did not even give him a count he walked over and wiped his gloves, and then leonard knocked him out, leonard is a good fighter at welter weight, but i think lalonde would of won that fight with a neutral ref,if lalonde were fighting today not only would he be world champ but he would have the wba, wbc, ibf titles at the same time

I think youre wrong. I'm not sure how good his chin was, but he definitely had the tools to give both Dawson and Hopkins a good fight. Youre forgetting SRL was naturally a welterweight, so he was way faster than Dawson and Hopkins. They wouldn't have this advantage against Lalonde. And Lalonde hits harder than both.

Do you think Donny could beat Hopkins and/or Dawson?

i liked donny lalonde, i watched him and hill fight, he seemed like a good guy, i know that doesnt particularly make him a good fighter, but he didnt have to take the leonard fight and lose all that weight, a great and shrewd move by leonard to manipulate his way to five titles, but i guess they offered donny big money, so he couldnt turn it down
