Bob Arum doesn't usually push his fighters into big name fights unless the fighter 100% agrees to it. For all the concessions Arum made to Goosen, and all the back and forth of the negotiations, don't you guys think Pavlik was at least consulted on the issue? If you wanna say Pavlik's a ***** cuz his knuckle is hurt, be my guest. But don't play the game that Kelly is scared to take on Williams. Pavlik loves his fans, believe it or not, and he does want big fights. If he says his hand is hurt, I truly believe the guy. If he was scared of Williams this fight would have never even been a topic of conversation, as Arum woulda asked Kelly "How bout a fight with Williams?" And Kelly would say "Phuck that." I'm pretty sure Arum is the one who approached Goosen, so I doubt thats what was said, and I doubt Pavlik after 1 week had a complete reversal of how he felt about Williams. Stop the speculation, the fight will go down soon enough. I'm still rootin for Pavlik. After bein in A.C. for his first fight with Taylor, I can't turn my back on the dude. One of the greatest sporting nights I've ever been a part of.
Do you really think Pavlik is scared of Williams?

I actually couldn't disagree more. I think Pavlik has his belts to lose, his undefeated MW status, and lots of pride. If he was undefeated I'd be more inclined to agree with you. The fact is however that he got whooped by Hopkins and although he performed ok against Rubio, opinion of him is at an all time low. If he wins, B-Hop is almost forgotten, he takes out his biggest challenger at MW, he will strengthen his claim even more as the best Middleweight in the world, and he would be back in the P4P conversations,at least at the bottom half. I would say that is a damn good incentive to win this fight.Comment

Williams isnt his biggest middleweight challenger. If Pavlik wins people will say oh well Williams was unproven...since he is pretty much.I actually couldn't disagree more. I think Wiliams isn't as good as Jermain. But I know there are alot of people on here who won't say it, but actually think he can beat B-Hop. And I do think Williams is his biggest challenger as far as the current contenders at 160 go, since Abraham left, so it would be a big win. Even though Winky was washed up, Williams did decisively beat him, giving himself recognition, however undeserved, as the top threat to Kelly. If Pavlik can put Williams to sleep I think alot of the demons he has battled in his head since the Hopkins fiasco will have been silenced.Comment
