Sugar Ray Leornad used Kotex Tampoons

Sugar used to have problems with his hands.Angelo Dundee solved the problem by wrapping those hands in Kotex Tampons.Apparently this trick was also used by many during Sugar Ray Robinson's day as well.

Just wondering do people still do it nowadays?
