Why do we care so much when our favorite fighter losses?

Losing is part of sport. As long as they recover from a loss and are still alive, why do we care so much? A lot of these guys get paid a lot of money to box, so it ain't like there life is in tatters. If i got paid millions to fight someone and got KO'd, i'd wake up a happy man and brush myself off and get on with it.

It's just like when your team losses why even root for a fighter then? I'm a Cotto fan and i can't watch the tony fight because my favorite fighter got plastered all night long it;s the guy u root for man, you just don't want him to lose especially get punished badly

Cotto came back stronger IMO, and is probably very wealthy. When my favorite fighter, team losses, i'm hurt for about 5 mins(if that lol!) and then i realise how lucky they are for doing something they love and get paid handsomely for doing it too.

Because boxing is such a personal sport.

At least for me. I personalize fighters and identify with them, so when they lose its a bummer.

As fans, nobody wants to see their guy defeated. But if this thread's gettin at a million and one excuses comin up for your fighter losin, that **** is wack.

I don't really. I get disappointed, but oh well. Can't win them all. At least not 99% of fighters.

Especially when it's your country men, you can relate. When my yankees and raiders lose im ****en hurting all day because i've rooted for them my whole life it's just something that becomes you. I love sports that has alot to do with it i guess. But boxing is a sport of hurt so i think that makes it even more important..Some people are just so passionate about sports

I honestly don't. That's what happens when you fight the best most of the time. The risk to lose is big.

Cotto Stans take the losing to the extreme though.
