ustream sued by Square ring promotions

ustream is being sued by Roy Jones promotion company because of the jones-Sheika bout.
Live video streaming service Ustream is being sued by Square Ring, Inc, a boxing promotional company owned by professional boxer Roy Jones, Jr. The suit alleges that Ustream has committed "massive and blatant copyright infringement" by allowing 2,377 users to view a broadcast of the fight Roy Jones Jr. vs Omar Sheika free of charge. Furthermore, the suit says that Ustream has ignored repeated requests by Square Ring Inc. to gather more information about the infringement. From the suit: Following the illegal exhibition of Plaintiff's Copyrighted Broadcast on USTREAM's website on March 21, 2009, notifying Defendants of the copyright and trademark infringements and, in a good faith effort to avoid litigation, requested information pursuant to Rules 26 and 34 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

There really cracking down these days.

This sucks, **** RJJ for charging so much for **** card. People want value and that fight was a disgrace. The shape Sheika came in at should have made Roy give everyone a refund.

I know exactly what you mean. I mean what else do they expect charging money for a fight where basically no one wanted to see. Theres no excuse for Sheika headlining any PPV.

It's a shame. Understandable but it's becoming more and more difficult to watch fights live where I'm from, since there's no way to actually buy pay-per-views.

Ustream was pretty much a last resort for me. Justin.tv is finished and no one seems to use SopCast/TVU.

Why don't Finland show boxing on TV?

They show local boxing every once in a while and some old fights on certain channels. Boxing isn't too popular here though.

I see where they coming from but what can you do, they don't send live boxing in sweden anymore either starting this year. There is to few interested. If i want to see a fight live i got to watch a stream, waiting for a ******* and missing the live action sucks. I would buy ppv if it was possible.

They need to start having more legal world wide streams for people in other countries because that seems to be a big cause to the streaming. If the person is willing to pay then why not?
