to be honest, the only reason Roy stopped Lacy is because Lacy's corner was merciful for once.

the Taylor or Calzaghe fights could have easily ended by corner stoppage...probably would have been best for Lacy

and Lacy's chin isnt that legendary. Efpinio Mendoza had him on shaky legs multiple times in the fight.
He even barely beat Otis Griffin, right before he fought Roy. Now thats bad.

Jones is 1 and 4 with 2 ko losses against the best of his division against Tarver, Johnson, and Calzaghe in recent years. That is the reality part of it. This isn't vintage Roy.

He did a damn fine job though last night and he can hit enough for guys to get **** and that's really all you need to suceed.
Not saying he's a world beater but when a guy with a screen name of Juan Guzman who dances away from guys he could kill is criticizing you have to throw in a dose of reality.

Jones could have hurt him real bad in the 10th and chose to have mercy on him. I do think he phucks around too much and doesn't take care of business, but in the 10th, he just showed compassion.

Roy has good power and he rocked Lacy a few times. One thing that can be said about Lacy is that he has an iron chin. Roy didn't even throw many right hands in the fight but if he did it would have been good night...I just think he was trying to carry Lacy to be honest because he's a fellow Floridian.

WTH @ this thread. Calzaghe, Jones nor Taylor couldn't put him away. So I see no point to this thread really. Lacy might be shot, but he's still a damn tank. He can take a hell of a beating, can't doubt his heart.
