this will be huge for nonito and arce will give him more trouble than el torito did ...
I agree the Arce will be tougher, but as long as Arce comes in at or within the same weight, not be overweight like Concepcion, he can be KO by DONAIRE. Arce is a different fighter, much more skilled offensively than Concepcion, but on the defensive side ARCE lacks of defense and comes in with head up will be tailor made for Donaire's left hooks. I'll have to give the slight advantage to Donaire (if hand is healed up). Hope this fight happens.
arce will prove that donaire belongs to track and field......
Yeah and Donaire will prove that Arce belongs in a boxing gym as a punching bag...You got to come up with a better statement back with facts FOOL!!! Nothing more than a complete hater, but a fool at it.
Donaire should be heavily favored to win this fight, but he didnt look too impressive against concepcion who was stopped by Arce, but then again triangle theories arent always correct. I'm not sure the risk/reward is in Donaire's favor, he probably wont get too much credit with a win given the fact that Arce was easily handled by Mijares and Vic, but on the flip side (no pun intended) there's a possibility Arce could give him a tough fight.
I agree with you that Donaire would be favored but slightly. Now the Concepcion that Arce fought wasn't overweight like the Concepcion that Donaire fought, so we got to take that as a consideration. This triangle theories don't mean ****, styles are what makes the fight. With that said, Arce always comes in with his head up, which is right on the money for DONAIRE'S counter left hook or left uppercut. If both fighters comes in at the same weight, i give the Donaire a win by KO. If Donaire resorts to fighting again punching one punch at a time, he might lose by a decision. Donaire needs to throws combo to set up his signature left hooks. I got Donaire winning by KO in round 11, if this fight happens.
I have just reviewed the Concepcion fight and saw again that Donaire had Concepcion in various corners more than a dozen times and with his back to the ropes at least half a dozen times in several rounds, firing combinations, a good percentage of which connected. Clearly, these were successful offensive thrusts that Concepcion never got around to paying back.
In addition, whenever he chose to use the ring, Donaire potshoted Concepcion.
While going through the review, I did not see Donaire engage Concepcion in several clinches which is the tool of choice of so-called "runners" whenever they have no more room to run. Instead, Nonito used his fists to create room through which he slipped away, often leaving Concepcion with a calling card as he did so. That's excellent boxing--a defensive tactic is initiated by an offensive move, then punctuated by another offensive reminder.
I think Donaire is being made a victim of expectations that are much too high for him or for any athlete. A good number of people seem to expect him to repeat in every one of his outings what he did to Vic Darchinyan. Anything less shall be a disappointment. It doesn;t seem to matter to some fans that the name of the game is "boxing" and what Nonito did was box.
Make a Montiel-Donaire fight. Christ Almighty. Arce lost his last meaningful fight against Darchinyan and should go to the back of the line. I can't stand Arum. I wonder if he made Pavlik pull out of the Williams fight.
