Thanks for posting those videos. I would love to see him against the top guys, I'd favor him. If Donaire decides to go to 118, Hasegawa would be his biggest problem.

Joe Louis, Mike Tyson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Ray Robinson, to name a few.

Some people just pick guys who throw a lot of punches in bunches. While that can be effective, it's not just about throwing a lot of punches in a combo. It's about creating and exploiting openings. Obviously, Tyson was famous for his right-hook-the-body, right-uppercut-to-the-head combination, which he sometimes followed up with a left hook to the head. Even Angelo Dundee expressed awe at his ability to do this.

Chavez was brilliant at mixing in combos to the head and body, with that killer double left hook. Just watch a few highlights of Robinson and watch how he also threw the double left hook, with the left hook to the body and then the killer left hook upstairs.

Louis threw all kinds of devastating combos. Even an old Louis threw a marvelous combo to take out Jersey Joe Walcott in the rematch.

Another guy whom I like watching throw combos is James Toney. While he was often criticized for taking too much time of a round off, he ultimately would finish the fight having thrown a lot of punches due to his combination punching. Watch the fight with Holyfield and see how he throws the double left hook. Watch him fight Booker and he does the Tyson right hand combo. Against Iran Barkley, he hit Barkley with everything in the book, especially the uppercut. He'd throw a right uppercut between the guard and then come over with a right hand over the guard to follow it. I

Julio Cesar Chavez threw some mean combos, and was particularly good at mixing it up to the body and head. watching him throw quadruple left hands and landing all of them is pretty eye catching



In terms of quick flurries that sometimes did not have much strategic variation to the punches thrown, guys like Ray Leonard and Meldrick Taylor take the cake though.

Maybe you didnnt see peak leonard. He threw the best combinations and could and did knock people out with any punch included in those rapid fire combinations. Meldrick taylor was called by Sugar Ray Leonard the best combination fighter ever. For 2-3 punch combinations it was clealry Roy Jones. Ray Robinson through just nasty hurtful gut wrenching combinations.
