The problem with the uppercut is it's a short range move. The absolute worst place for Pacquiao to be in against Cotto. To land uppercuts Pac must get within range of Cotto's dreaded body shots. A complete no-no in the fightplan.

Its better if Pacquiao just uses his speed and movement and catches cotto with his chin up by drawing him in with feints....and using positioning to catch the side of Cotto's face when he puts on the earmuffs.

The way Manny can beat Cotto is if he can land that punch he landed on Hatton but it has to be right on the temple. Manny hit Marquez with it once but it was not spot on and not as effective. Manny in order to win will have to be stronger and he will have to put on the pressure cooker of a life time as it seems that Cotto does not fair well against pressure fighters. If Manny can't knock out Cotto early, Manny will be on his bike a lot more than normal sort of like he went up against Barrera the second time around.
