Well, historically, Cotto can handle speed and power (Mosely, Judah). But has problems with pressure and volume (Margarito and Clottey). That's what I think at least.

I’d say Margarito for the obvious reason that he was naturally bigger then Cotto and that he pressured Cotto effectively. Manny on the other hand is the smaller opponent who his fighting a naturally bigger one who uses over all skill to get his opponents to succumb to defeat.
