"Hate" is a strong word ; but his style really bothered me.

I couldn't really enjoy many of his fights because I always found myself concentrating on the things he did wrong ; rather than the things he did so well.

Certain basic things that all boxers know how to do Joe either just couldn't manage to do, or didn't feel the need to do.

Things like pulling away from a punch (Ali did this, also), squaring up when he throws, keeping his feet too far apart, etc...

Just little things that annoyed me as a bit of a purist.
