Luevano Retains Title With DQ Win Over Concepcion

I didn't see the fight, but I think Concepcion is a way more exciting fighter than this fight would lead you to believe. From what I was looking at on the YouTube video it was Luevano being a little Cory Spinks and Concepcion was the one going forward. Why would Arum throw in a bright young prospect like Concepcion in with a guy who you can't shine against? I know he promotes Luevano too, but I hope that guy is ruined so I don't have to watch him on my TV screen anymore. The only time I've seen Concepcion fight was on the Cotto-Margarito undercard. And it looks to me like he can be in action fights if you match him up with someone that doesn't run like a scared squirrel like Luevano does.Comment

Concepcion's performance was more reminiscent of Bobby Pacquiao than Manny. He doesnt seem to have the mental discipline to compete with the elites. A DQ is probably the best thing that could have happened to Concepcion, he appeared to be headed towards a defeat but at least now there's the possibility of a remach.

I think top philipino fighters should actually try fighting eachother for a change like other countries do.. oh wait, i almost forgot, they dont' have enough quality fighters to do so..Comment

i don't care what any of you guys say, that punch was intentional, BUT, I DON'T THINK THAT CONCEPCION THOUGHT IT WOULD'VE HAD THAT KIND OF EFFECT. personally i think that concepcion was just trying to get in a cheap shot because he wasn't able to do anything all fight long. so right at the bell when he was all amped up and caught luevano with a good shot, he took advantage of the tapping of the gloves right at the bell.
because it was clear, that luevano acknowledge the bell and even gave bernabe a nod right before he was going to tap gloves and head to his corner. even nady, who i usually disagree with a lot, even he said that bernabe acknowledged the bell and took the shot..............
i say it was intentional in regards to landing a clean punch after he had landed a good shot just prior, all bernabe wanted to do was send a message that he was still in the fight.
i think it was a lack of professionalism on the behalf of bernabe, because it was clear, i've watched about 30 times last night, and there is a communication between luevano and concepcion right at that moment of the bell ringing, then concepcion cracked him......
i don't think that it was intentional in regards to being malicious or for and cheating purposes, just a lack of being professional and the overwhelming competitive spirit............Comment
