Pacquiao Three More Mega Fights and Done!
By: Albert Alvarez
The latest boxing news is that boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao will fight just twice more after his next fight against the Boriqua Bomber. Pacquiao's reason for this is that he plans on running for President of the Philippines. I for one am almost certain that the proud people of the Philippines will not vote him into office knowing that if they do so that their best fighter will be in an office instead of the ring.
If Pacquiao is true to his word, chances are that his last three opponents will be Cotto, Mayweather, and Mosley. If Pacquiao is to defeat all three giants, chances are that Pacquiao will indeed go down as one of the truly best to ever do it. Alot can and will happen during that time frame, maybe Mayweather's demands are too much, maybe Pacquiao fights 140 pound champ Timothy Bradley instead of the dangerous veteran that is Mosley, maybe Cotto crushes Pacquiao, alot can happen.
One thing to count on is that we can all expect to see the very best Manny Pacquiao no matter who he fights, Freddie Roach wouldn't have it any other way. These past few years, Pacquiao has been quite a storm like no other, I mean I can't recall of no other fighter being compared to Roberto Duran and Henry Armstrong all in the same breath. I am not looking forward to seeing this demolition tour come to an end. I guess the inevitable always strikes, like life all things come to an end.
That's exactly what I call Pacquiao's reighn at the top, the Demolition Tour. If in fact Pacquiao sticks to what he is saying, you can expect for fighters like Timothy Bradley, Juan Diaz, and Edwin Valero to stake their case as to why they deserve a shot at the typhoon before the curtain falls. As I mentioned before, anything can happen. Cotto can very well crush Pacquiao and close the show on Pacquiao sooner than expected. In any case, no matter what unfolds, it kills me to even think that boxings most exciting fighter may soon vanish from the sport. Nonito Donaire if you are reading this, your time may be here sooner than you think.
