Former boxer Chris Eubank has spent £31,000 on dental work to remove his lisp, but in the process has gained a toothy whistle.
The 43-year-old ex-world super-middleweight champion travelled to Dublin for the surgery.
The dentist fitted 28 porcelain crowns and closed the gap responsible for Eubank's lisp.
However while the treatment has removed his distinctive speech impediment, it has resulted in Eubank making a whistling sound every time he pronounces the letter 's'.
Speaking to the Sun, Eubank said: "Officially, the lisp has gone. However, I now have a whistle. I've jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. I certainly wasn't expecting it. Everyone thinks it's hilarious. But at least I prefer the whistle to the lisp."
The whistle is expected to disappear once Eubank has got used to his new mouth.
