Cotto May Use Calderon To Emulate Pacquiao

WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is already mapping out the plan to beat Manny Pacquiao on November 14. The biggest concern for Cotto is Pacquiao's speed. He wants to have the best sparring partners possible to create a strategy to neutralize Pacquiao's speed. Calderon can very well emulate Pac's style..the slick slipping, Southpaw, and the footwork...of course the size and power is MUCH different..but the speed is pretty similar..Cotto will have others i'm sure to emulate the speed+power combo..

I don't think pac will stant toe to toe for the most part. I am sure pac is going for the KO coz thats how he always fights, if he is not careful that is where he might fail.

Ivan Calderon is one of fastest pure boxers in the sport. Cotto can use him for sure to prepare for Pacquiao speed.

Cottos main focus should be speed in sparring, this is a good pick IMO...

Calderon has very fast hands and that is what they will be training for. Obviously, Ivan has no power to show but footwork, and speed is something that Calderon will bring to the table. Besides most people don't believe the Pacman will stay infront of Cotto or press Cotto...angles and boxing is what a pure boxer like Calderon will help prepare Cotto for when he faces Manny. I'm sure boxing is a gameplan of Roach because they have to be prepared for a Cotto that cuts off the ring and pursues Manny relentlessly. Calderon will make Cotto sweat his ass off in the ring to keep up with his ass.
