Rafael Concepcion does not make weight, Donaire still promises to knock him out
As earlier reported, Rafael Concepcion wasn't able to cut additional pounds for his bout against Nonito Donaire Jr. at the weigh-ins held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas at 3pm PT this afternoon.

Donaire weighed it right at the limit at 115 while Rafael Concepcion was 4.5 pounds overweight at 119.5. Concepcion was fined for not making the weight. Donaire could've opted not to fight Concepcion but said he did not want to spoil the show for his fans and even said he would "still knock Concepcion out".
The turn of events disqualifies Concepcion from winning the belt but a victory by Donaire still makes him the new WBA interim champ.
Other weigh-in results had Mark Melligen and his opponent both at 145 pounds. While Bernabe Concepcion and Steven Luevano also made their weights tipping the scales at 125.
