btw does anybody else feel the reason why tito retired was to wait till hopkins was old and at his most vulnerable to fight him again, it makes sense that tito would wait because there is no way hopkins losses to tito while in his prime.

Absoulutly, Hopkins age is why Tito took a break, why Oscar came up now before Hopkins retired, why Eastman finally took a shot at coming back over, and why Taylor took so long "developing"

He is only in his early thirties. The age excuse won't work here.

when winkys out for the count will you still be saying
winkys gonna win nope..too big a task IMO

hopkins would have to do alot more against tito than he
did against eastman..and tito wont follow hopkins round
looking for the ko either..he will come to win every rd.

still not sold on the tito comeback but defo think he
can beat hopkins..not so sure he will but..

He did have a two year layoff though, and layoffs are always damaging to a fighter's career. People who say he is as good as ever, I am not so sure. Beating a crude Mayorga does not prove he was the fighter who destroyed legitimate middleweights Joppy and Vargas. If he gets knocked out, I will definitely suspect his timing and reflexes have diminished with the inactivity. Mayorga is just so damn easy to hit that it was hard to tell from that fight really.

How many Tito fights have you seen? Tito is a search and destroy type of fighter, following his opponent around looking for a knockout is exactly what Tito does. He has never fought any other way this is his style.

seen tons of his fights though missed a few like pernell whittaker.

              i think titos changed.

he didnt go after the ko with mayorga until he was ready.
hopefully he can keep putting it into practice.

its all about putting in the hardwork and letting the ko
come naturally..which erik morales didnt do against MAB
              awhile back.

im not saying he will beat hop..just that he can

Actually put on Tito vs. Campas, people acclaimed him for having boxing skills, later in his career he became big, and started looking for a KO allways, (or became slower moving up weight) cause he felt the fans demanded it, he can box. Watching him vs. Thiam right now, he actually moves away from Thiam, and keeps distance. Foreman even says "He better finish him off right now, because this guy (Thiam)gets stronger as the fight goes on".

Was Mayo easy to hit or was it Tito's remarkable accuracy, which he's always had, that made it appear so? Also, Vargas wasn't a Middleweight, he was a Jr. Middleweight, when he fought Tito.
