Brilliant boxing book - "Dark Trade" by Donald McRae

Got in for £3 at a Borders closing down sale, which might be the best value purchase I have ever made.

Strongly recommended; just a phenomenally engaging and interesting read. I'm nearly finished with it, which is why I'm probably gonna procrastinate and not fully finish it for a while, because I don't want to end my time with it.

If you're a big Toney fan, then it's a must read - McRae was able to hang with Toney, and you're able to get a sense of the anger that fuelled JT. You also get insight into the falling out from the RJJ defeat, the beginning of his weight problems, the wilderness years (would have been so neat if the book could have been around after Toney's cruiserweight reign, and could have captured JT's resurgence, but oh well)

There's also stuff on RJJ, Tyson, Hamed, Eubank, Oscar - that glorious '90s era which just seems so exciting.

Anyone else read this book? And if not, you should. You really should.
