As a white man, allow me to answer this one for 'ya ; It's not that we think we're superior, it's just that no racial slur against white people really "works".

By that I mean it doesn't get the reaction a racial slur would get from any other ethnicity.

What do we have? Honkey? Cracker? White trash? None of that phases a white person whatsoever.

I think its because Blacks, African Americans are very sensative when it comes to name calling
Its offensive for anyone non black to use the n word
yet its acepted when they call each other **gga?

In regards to whites maybe they think they are superior and cant have a minority call them anything

well you are wrong. not all blacks are cool with the N word and if most had deeper convos with their parents..they would see why my parents generation isnt cool with it and the meanign of the word can never be changed to mean "friend" or anything like that

i got into a convo with my mom(who is 60) and its something i never knew. she always said the n word can never change and the reason was b/c she said blacks would use the n word against each other the way white used it against us...blacks used it as a put down as well.

one thing people dont realize is that the black race is the most racist race against itself compared to any other race. granted its up to us to fix the problems in our community but they root of the probs didnt start with us. the Europeans and white slave owners did. they found ways to minipulate us to get us to hate one another so we would never unite and over throw the establish

but back on topic...most blacks from the newer generations dont know this b.c their parents dont pass this info along taught to them from their parents

and its not cool for other races to use it b.c there are plenty people that say things and act like they are saying it one way but deep with in they feel another

for instance. a white guy saying n*gga and claiming he means it to be "my dawg, friend etc" but he actually feels "******" when saying it

if its not cool for blacks to use amougst one another its damn sure not cool for other races and ethnicities too either

you are right. racial slurs dont really work on whites b/c its not something that was used against your race for hundreds of years. its been a tool used to put us down/break us down, make us feel less human or not human at all, keep us from uniting and coming together plus many other thing

of course im not saying all but what does affect whites more than anything is losing positions of power. especially white men...again im not saying all and im mostly speaking of the older generations with the old way of thinking

what gets to those whites more than anything is them losing positions of power to minorites and women b/c at the end of the day.

look at how the sotomayor hearings were going...and especially how the white men were acting.

Whitey is power hungry.

Certainly not all of us, but it's true to some extent.

Some view it as a good thing, others as a bad thing ; I guess it all depends on which side of the fence you're on and which generation you happened to be born into.

I didn't watch the Sotomayor hearings and confirmation ; I'm burnt on the political scene at the moment.

Though the "wise Latina" comment, and the comment about her being better qualified than a white man was definitely some controversial ****.
