    How are rounds decided?

For example why are some fights 10 rounds, and others 12? Does it have something to do with championships? Can a championship fight be scheduled for 10 rounds?

Out of all the championship fights I've heard of, I haven't seen any for 10 rounds. I guess if it's for a championship it has to be 12 rounds.

Championship fights have to be 12 rounds. Regular fights are usually determined by the quality of the fighters and or the fight. The number if rounds may also depend on the spot on the fight card.
