He gets tagged early and basically fought the rest of it in blind rage of which he said he didn't remember a thing after the fight.
I thought Hagler in the Hearns fight is one of the best displays of a fighter changing from his usual style to another one to perfection. I mean he fought in a totally different manner than usual, against someone as great as Tommy Hearns, and kicked his ass.

          I agree.

I mostly meant Hearns, since he would have obviously done better by sticking to boxing (although with Hagler's pressure it would have been very difficult), but chose to slug it out partly due to the fight being as hyped as it was ("The War" as Hagler called it). I think it was a bit of mindgame played by Hagler on Hearns as well, since he knew that Hearns would not back down from a fight and how difficult it was to deal with him when he was in boxer "mode".

Hagler himself was tagged with a good punch early on which made him even more aggressive. He had looked inept trying to put the pressure on against Duran and again when he fought Leonard. I guess you would sometimes have to hurt him to wake him up a little.

            Verification.

No honestly I bought the dvd and would watch it with friends sometimes. Then I realized it wasn't that great.

Most recently, COtto-Judah. The atmosphere was electric. The fight? Not so much.

Who says that fight was good?

Something usually has got to be rated fairly high or decent in the first place to be overrated.

Imagine this kind of action in a modern heavyweight bout, it would be talked about for years
The only piece of brutal action was in the final rounds where ali was teeing off as Fraziers head.Martin Rogan has had two bouts that have been as exciting if not more than the thrilla in manila in the past five months alone.

I wouldn't rate this in my top ten heavyweight title bouts,That's for sure
