In this situation, the issue would have been dealt with differently since they drove off. They returned because he came back and chased them guns blazing.

No they aren't okay, eventually the life they lead will always 360 on them.

However it wasn't Vernon's place to put their misdeeds in his hands. Vengeance is a dangerous road to be on and Vernon got the wrong end of the deal.

And what did that get him? Him dead, fatherless children and a family deep in sorrow.

That is what law enforcement is for. He had a pre-teen child with him that looked up to him as a father. The man thing to do would have been to do the right thing and turn the other cheek and call the cops.

Walking strapped doesn't make you a man, it makes you a punk. I have a gun permit and I own several weapons. They are stored safely in my house in my panic room for use during extreme duress. I would never walk around loaded because I'm with my kids normally.

The situation just made Vernon look petty. He valued his car over the life of that kid and his own.

That just shows what you know.

It had nothing to do with his car whatsoever.

And it had nothing to do with the money, either. Vernon willingly gave up the cash he had on him.

It was the Championship ring that set him off.

You try dedicating yourself to something as incredibly demanding as boxing for the majority of your life, only to have some punk walk up and take what is basically the embodiment of all that hard work and sacrifice, and tell me how you'd feel.

He was overflown with emotion.

Anybody who's ever been in an actual face-to-face, heated situation (and not an internet argument) knows what it's like to lose yourself in the emotion.

Sometimes you make a rash decision.

Vernon made one.

He paid for it with his life.
