Ricky Hatton had no boxing skills whatsoever!

Maybe thats why I like him. Here's a guys with minimal skills that became a 4 time world champ. I have been watching some of Hattons fights and he really did not have much skills inside the ring. He threw himself towards the opponent with his head down and held A LOT. I'm not a hatton hater, rather I am amazed at what he did throughout his career. He was a British god and i enjoyed to watch how many fans he brought to the states. I don't understand why everyone bashes him, he's sort of like rocky. Your thoughts?

currently, he's in the middleman being destroyed by two great fighters. he had gayweather sr on his side and made him look like a fool at the same exact time made pac look like a monster compared to gayweather jr.

so pbf fans are just hating that he was not as impressive.

Ricky would have been a monster if he had a trainer like roach or the mayweathers, or ****m and teached him the right stuff early.. He had the toughness, tenacity, and power in the ring.. Billy graham ****ed him up, graham never teached him anything. U see how him and ricky did the mitts no technique watsoever just brute strength..

hatton won based on tenacity and physicality alone.

hatton could have been much better than he was.his technique was ****, but he definitely had it in him to be very tyson like, with his footspeed, short arm length, and tenacity.if he where younger and magically had cus damato teach him, and wasn't such a fun loving guy, he would have been much better.

He obviously had some, otherwise he wouldn't have won a world title regardless...

His wrestling skills, however, were second to none.

Each boxer emphasises different things and Ricky Hatton was more on punch output, overwhelming his opponent and setting a tempo that was not easy to fight at.Another thing with Hatton was the use of the clinch, this was his form of defence.I've been watching soe old fights of Frasier and Tyson, they were more fluid than Hatton but there are some aspects they had which Hatton tried to emulate.
Hatton is definitely not like elite but to say he had no boxing skills is quite unfair.I think he beat some credible guys even though we all expected more from him.
