Why is it so many people hate on cotto?

Cotto should be RESPECTED by all who LOVE this sport.....he's always PROFESSIONAL about his work.......he does EVERYTHING he can to win EVERYTIME he fights.......he's a WARRIOR and I'm NOT a fan of his.....I'm a fan of the sport and he's GOOD....... better yet GREAT for the sport!!....he has wins over 2 of my favs (Mosley and Clottey).......2 wins I STILL feel like he shouldn't have .......but I have to RESPECT the dude for steppin' up and going to war with ALL the top dudes in the division!!......can't hate on Cotto!!

Cotto is awesome for this sport but I dont like how he ended with the whole margarito thing. I really really like how he is handling the belt situation with Pacman. I think its bull crap that they want to make it a title fight, if manny wants it so bad jump up to 147!!!

He said it...He is Tito Tinidad. Tito fought with Pride and was exciting. Cotto is A good fighter/boxer but he aint exciting to watch and although he gets the job done with his one way fights he looks boring and his opponents are gonna lose before they fight. Example. Zab...I got up and went to the bath room during that fight because I knew in a matter of time Cotto was going to get to Zab. I didnt care if I missed it. He of course is no tito and I only compare because Tito was the type of fighter that was energizing to watch. Cotto has the personality of a wet mop that dont help either.

I'm quite surprised by this. You don't think he is an exciting fighter? How? Why? How can you think Pac is exciting to watch if you don't think Cotto is exciting to watch? How many fights of his have you seen?

I can name five fights off the top of my head that were easily fight of the year contenders. Cotto vs Mosley, Margarito, Torres, Corley and Judah. All had great back and forth action with excellent exchanges. Whatever you think of Cotto, one thing he definitely is, is exciting. How can a fan of Pac say Cotto isn't exciting? What more can you want?

Cotto/Torres is one of the great back and forth action brawl of recent years. An incredible fight! That is why this up coming fight with Pac/Cotto is being so looked forward to.

Anyway, to the guy who started the thread. He is a top fighter in the most stacked division in boxing today. He is also fighting Pac, which sadly means that every Pac fan will spew non stop vitriol about him forever forth. He also gets a lot of hate by the Mayweatherites as that was one of the biggest fights not to happen in boxing before he 'retired'. The classic Mayweather excuse for not fighting him being that he wasn't 'big' enough. This seems to cause a certain disdain in the Mayweather fans toward Cotto, maybe because they can't stand to look at the simple fact that it would have been a great fight and Cotto was bigger than all the other opponents he fought at that time apart from Hatton and Oscar and it simply should have been a fight that was made.

I don't understand why fans make such a big deal about Cotto taking a knee?? He was copping too much and eventually couldn't take the beating any longer..

Every fighter has their nuthuggers, but for someone like Cotto who's fought the best of the best win or lose and always provides action in his fights, its tough not to be a fan of his.

Trust me, since being on this site I've seen a hell of a lot worse from Floyd fans and more recently Pacquiao fans. I've only seen about a handfull of Cotto fans here who might take a facial from him, but the majority of the people here are fans of Cotto as a fighter.

*******ISM IS A DECEASE that eats away the the tissue away from those half-functioning brains. it is a decease that currently has no cure and so far science can't explain.
