Pretty Boy will come back when he starts fighting guys who are smaller than he is, like Marquez. He won't have to worry about his opponents' power, so he can be more aggressive. Mid September will be PB's homecoming. I hope after he fights Marquez he continues to fight small guys, the way BHop does. Floyd could wipe out all the blown up lightweights and featherweights, for the next ten years.Last edited by Elie; 08-12-2009, 01:58 PM.Comment

I for one miss the hell out of "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr.....and just wish that "Money" Mayweather would hurry up and go to hell already.
"Pretty Boy" took on all challenges without fear of losing......went after his opponents like they took his lunch money, and finished fighters off at the slightest hint of weakness. (Gatti, Chico, Castillo x2, N'Dou, Chop Chop, Sharmba) When he was "hungry" and was willing to prove himself...Floyd was the best thing to happen to boxing since the ring card girl.....:boobies:
"Money" Mayweather.....well....since he took on this persona....his reputation and his "public approval" ratings have gone down the drain. Baldomir, DLH, Hatton....he was favored to win all those fights...and he did so, but he then got possesed by the "money" demons........and settled for taking easy fights, that paid him the most, without any risk of hurting his "0". Not what a "real champ" is suppose to do. If you want to get paid AND want the respect of the fans and your colleagues....fight other elite's.
No one is denying that Floyd Mayweather Jr. the "fighter" is the most talented boxer of our generation....but with talent like that...and a mouth to go with it....more is expected of you....and don't say that "Money" could care less about what we think of him, because in the end...if enough people "don't care" enough of him to pay $44.95 to watch him have a glorified sparring match...then he might have to change his name from "Money" to Floyd "BK Ch.7" Mayweather Jr....

Don't you remember his quote in 1999 about the offer from HBO?
"Compared to what HBO pays Naseem Hamed, they offered me slave wages".
I don't know why you'd bring up the likes of Gatti and faded Mitchell and trump up those wins and then downgrade wins over DLH and Hatton and consider them "easy fights". Mayweather's fights with DLH and Hatton in 2007 were riskier fights than the guys he was taking on from 2003-05.
He's just more vocal and talks even more now about money, but he's always yapped about it.Comment

Mayweather's always been about the money, the big fights, the attention.

I bring up the Gatti and Mitchell fights because that was a "hungrier" Mayweather. He did what everyone expected him to do...dominate...and do so in devastating fashion. DLH and Hatton were average and great. But you have to remember...HE was the favorite to win both those fights. You mean to tell me that you weren't a little disgusted by the DLH fight after all the hype? He was able to pot shot DLH all day..and in my mind, was more than capable of "turning it up" and possibly getting a stoppage. Hatton...well...he toyed with Hatton for 8 rounds and then finished him after that beautiful check hook. But Hatton was NEVER a real threat to Floyd.
About Floyd always being about the money....I remember in a magazine in I think it was 2000 or 2001...(either Source, XXL or Maxim) they had an article on Floyd and even back then he was already flashin the bling, the mink fur coat (in Vegas hahaha) the Lambos and Ferraris. BUT...it didn't affect his performances in the ring and the ability to take on all challengers....After Gatti...only Floyd knows what switch was turned on in his head to transform into "Money"....Comment
