Hattons damaged goods now, he needs to forget being a boxing and focus on promoting instead.

is the thread starter forgetting that the hitman just got blasted in 2 rounds? hatton will never get another shot at mayweather in a million years. and its probably best that hatton retires.

Floyds back now and Hatton needs another fight to make him feel better, if Hatton was to fight on then I believe he would need to re-work his whole camp, and give Graham one last shot at being in his corner!
Hattons carrer is done but he can still win decent fights.

Come on mate, you can't be serious with this post, surely? I was a big Ricky Hatton fan and was desperate for him to shut Mayweather up, but deep down I knew that he had little chance of winning the fight, as long as Mayweather didnt take him lightly, because Flloyd is 10 times the fighter of Ricky. They could have 5 rematches, and Hatton would lose every single one because, although he has been involved in some exciting fights, he is very one dimentional and his style makes him easy pickings for someone like Mayweather.

He doesnt keep his gloves up, has very little head movement, just goes charging in and tries to bully his opponents. At the highest level, you simply cannot get away with this. It's all very well saying he needs to just re-work his camp, but its not as simple as that. Hatton is too old to change his style now, he is what he is. As we saw against Pacquiao, you can try and teach an old dog new tricks, but in the heat of the battle, a fighter will just revert to type and fight on instinct. Ricky is a brawler, not a boxer. If he tried to outbox Mayweather, he would be destroyed even more emphatically.

What upset Hatton is that Mayweather played him at his own game, and destroyed him in the process. He roughed him up and didnt get caught throughout the entire fight (with the exception on that one jab in the first round that caught him off balance). Hatton wanted to bully Floyd on the inside, but he wasnt able to do it and was actually bullied himself.

Dont get me wrong, Ricky has been in some really exciting fights, but against the very best he is out of his depth. He is predictable, and no matter who he gets to train him, it wont change a thing. A re-match with Mayweather is pointless because Floyd is a class above Ricky, sadly.

Ricky would crumble inside 4rounds in a rematch with Floyd.
