  • Gatti-Mayweather a go for June 11

It was not certain Mayweather would be able to take the fight until Wednesday. He had pleaded no contest to an assault & battery charge in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was facing up to 90 days in jail. Happily for promoters of the upcoming HBO-PPV event, at yesterday's sentencing Floyd was placed on non-reporting probation, leaving him free to train for the Gatti bout. Mayweather was also ordered to do 80 hours of community service, attend anger management counseling and pay a $500 fine plus court costs.

Looks like the fight is a go. Thanks, *********, for the info. (^_^)

The judge was pretty easy on him...must be a boxing fan. As for the fight, Floyd is going to win about every round on the cards before his corner throws in the towel, or the refs stop 'em..

Well I really want Gatti to win this fight but I know it won't happen. This maybe Mayweathers grand intro to a broader fight audience.

DAMN very good news. I believe 2005 will be a very good year for boxing. Keep it coming!!!!

Slowly but surely scores are getting settled. By the end of the year we will have an idea who is really who INSIDE THAT RING.

This should be a good fight and should really tell us how PBF will perform in these higher weight calsses. I think it might be a good idea for me to watch Gatti's fight with De La Hoya again in preparation

I don't have 20 million but I'll bet everything I have that Gatti will win every round by a large margin by outboxing Floyd and get a UD. No, wait. No I don't actually believe that! Never mind. No bet, sorry.

Mayweather will win by Tko due to Gattis cuts.
