Floyd Mayweather Jr v Manny Pacquiao - A fitting end to this generation of boxers?

For boxing this fight has to happen.

It's basically written in the stars (Unless one of them loses there next fight which they shouldn't since there the favourites), and would be a shame if it wasn't carried out.

    - I would imagine this fight to be the sign off of all the great fighters & great fights of the past 15 years, because a newer generation is coming through.

You could say that the current fighters aged 23-27 are current generation but they are second to fighters such as Mayweather, Pacquiao, Hatton, Cotto, Klit brothers and others such as Bernard Hopkins who won't be here come 2/3 years time.

This is apparent with the signing off of De La Hoya.

I really think this fight should have happened this year to end the decade and prove whose the best but whatever. I guess we'll have to wait. Hopefully they don't back out of it.

Pac beating Cotto would make the fight with Mayweather even more significant.

Can the current P4P#1 beat the seemingly unbeatable Mayweather? or will Mayweather seal himself as one of the ATG.

I agree, Mayweather vs. Pacman would be the fight of all fights. It would be a damn shame if it never goes down.

Mayweather should win his upcoming fight rather comfortably however, Pacman is in for a serious battle with Cotto.

In reality Pacquiao can retire without Mayweather, Mayweather needs Pacquiao more at this point. Pacquiao can beat Cotto and call it quits.
