Beibut Shumenov fights for world title in 9th pro fight this Saturday!

Lots of boxers fight 20 or 30 clubfighters before taking a real test. Beibut Shumenov has already defeated two former world champions in his first 8 pro fights.

This coming Saturday August 15, in only his 9th pro fight, Beibut will be facing Gabriel Campillo for the WBA light heavyweight title,

If he succeeds, he will probably try to unify with Pascal, Erdei or the winner of Cloud-Woods.

He should win this fight, but I think unifying with Pascal, Cloud-Woods winner is a little too early.

This can't be right Tunney, I thought black fighters were dominating boxing? That's what Floyd told me. Anyway....

I'm thinking if Pascal doesn't have any obligations to rematch with Diaconu, he will hook up with the Woods-Cloud winner, although I'd like to see him make a 'stay busy' defense first against someone who is at least a stern test. Young fighters should stay active. Erdei is a joke who will remain in Germany earning 6 figures until he needs to ref to win him fights, at which point he will retire.

Anyway, my prediction for this fight is Beibut takes it inside the distance.

I think Shumenov will win probably by decision.

Is this the fastest guy to win a world title?

I cant remember his name off the top of my head, but an asian fellow won a title in his 3rd fight. He was from Thailand, and got a gift decision over Sauol Mamby once.

Ive heard very good things about Shumenov, althoguh admittedly I havent seen any of his fights. I know absolutely nothing about Campillo either, other than he beat Garay...

              True.

But still I think he is the fastest world champ in history.

3rd fight of his pro career.

I think he died not too long ago.
