    Ana Julaton.

    Monica Lovato

American Metal & Iron Fight Night at the Tank promoted by Roy Englebrecht Promotions presents Bay area’s own Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton in her 1st World Championship Event. Julaton who is the most influential Filipina boxer in the history of the sport and arguably the most popular female boxer to ever come out of the Bay Area is making her way home in the biggest event of her career. For the 1st time ever a Filipina American female will Headline as the main event September 12th, 2009 at the HP Pavillion in San Jose for what could be a historic "Coronation".

World Ranked Contender Ana "The Hurricane" Julaton will be making her first attempt at the World Championship when she takes on one of the Best Mexican American female boxer in the world "The Pride of Espanola" I.B.A. World Bantamweight Champion Monica Lovato.

This is a dream come true as Ana will make her 1st appearance as a professional boxer in the Bay Area in a World Championship fight! Julaton is getting an opportunity very few ever receive fighting 10 rounds for the I.B.A. SuperBantamweight Championship against a fighter who is on an 11 fight winning streak and has not lost in over 5 years. The I.B.A. Bantamweight Champion Monica Lovato (12 wins 1 loss 4 Knockouts) who represents Mexico by way of Espanola, New Mexico is currently ranked by the WBC #3, WIBF #6 and IFBA #2 is Julaton’s toughest opponent to date.

Lovato is considered by many to be too seasoned for Julaton. Some boxing experts believe Ana is a huge underdog and should not be taking such a risky fight, but Ana could not pass up the chance to Win her 1st World Championship in front of her Bay Area fans. If Julaton can pull of the upset she becomes the first Female Filipino-American to ever win a World Championship. This is the same Championship Belt the Great Laila Ali defended 5 times in her career. Ana Julaton will be making an appearance at the 16th Annual Pistahan Festival in Yueba Buena Gardens, San Francisco to promote her upcoming fight. http://www.pistahan.net/

Ana can be seen training at the Kennel Boxing gym located in San Leandro, CA. and will remain in the Bay Area for her entire training camp. Hoping for a repeat of the 2007 knockout of the year Team Julaton has added the original team that produced the upset win over pound for pound #8 SuperFlyweight Champion Vic Darchinyan in 2007.

With the services of famed trainer Nonito Donaire Sr. along with assistant trainer Arvin Jugarap (owner of Kennel Boxing) and NABA & NABO flyweight champion Glenn "The Filipino Bomber" Donaire as her chief sparring partner it might produce upset of the year honors. When asked why she is in the Bay Area with her new team she replied "The Bay Area has always supported me my entire career, I trained here for my wins in the Golden Gloves Championships at the SF Civic Auditorium, California State Championships, my Silver Medal victory in the USA Championships and my Pro Debut. I feel a strong connection with this community and being able to train in front of my fans is always a plus!"

Julaton is another Pinoy hype job. She had a draw with Johanna Mendez at the alladin casino back on the Torres vs Holt 2 card and she would land 1 to every 3-4 punches by Mendez and the ONLY REASON why she got a draw was because it was a Top Rank promotion and her trainer was Roach, compared to the Texan chick.

I posted without reading the other comments, but yeah that's Mendez, I remember EVERYONE was BOOING her azz, and even the other guy on the same card Glen Gonzales who fought "Don't lose" Da Luz, was getting outboxed the whole fight. But I think his trainer is Donaire SR, or Roach, can't remember
